Admiralty Island is a tranquil place with immaculate streets and unique houses, many with water views.On Admiralty Island, you can see kayakers paddling the gentle waters, large yachts docked at homes and estates and a variety of landscaping and home decor from simple, original homes that are usually one story tall to the re-build houses and small castles that are often two-stories tall. Admiralty Island is the “in-between island.” On one side of it sits a channel that overlooks Sunset Island waterways and houses.

On the other side of the channel visible at several bridges you drive over or can park and walk to, are Gilbert Island homes. Admiralty Island connects to its inner sanctum, Gilbert Island, where the playground with a bear sculpture, swing and slide children’s play area sits on a hill and lush green parkway. While the playground area is great for children, Admiralty Island residents enjoy a close proximity to the Pacific Ocean in Sunset Beach. From many Admiralty Island homes it is actually closer to cross over Pacific Coast Highway to Sunset Beach.

For the tourist passing through, there’s not much to do on Admiralty Island. You would be most inclined to tour it via the channel waterways in a Duffy Boat you can rent or in a kayak also available for rent on Pacific Coast Highway nearby.

Huntington Beach, California - Construction began on the Huntington Harbour complex in 1963. Two islands, Admiralty and Gilbert, were included in the first phase of development. Today, Huntington Harbour contains five manmade islands offering a wide variety of home styles in both single family and condominium units. Every year, during the Christmas season, the Harbour residents present a “Cruise of Lights” by dressing up their boats with lights and decorations for a parade through the Harbour. Residents and visitors attend the nightly parades which have become a popular attraction. The Huntington Harbour contains several political organizations and its very own yacht club with fishing trips. There’s even a local magazine published just for Huntington Harbour residents.
